Janet in Haider

Janet Jackson at the New York premiere for the movie "For Colored Girls." Miss Janet was at the Haider Ackermann Spring 2011 show earlier this month in Paris, which I think is an odd mix. I could have pictured this ensemble on Tilda Swinton, Ackermann's muse of sorts. Which of these ladies looks better in Haider? Janet or Tilda?

Lively in Lanvin

Oh No She Didn't! Blake Lively was a presenter at Spike TV's annual "Scream Awards" wearing head to toe Lanvin from the Spring 2011 collection. How the heck did she manage that when the runway show was only less than three weeks ago? Though she looks "good," she seems to make the to-die-for pleated dress, look somewhat hoochie like. Shrink those tits girl! Frida Gustavsson looks much better in this, don't you think?

Rick Owens Spring 2011

Rick Owens, master of minimalism, deconstruction and darkness, steps into a new light. Though his Spring 2011 line was still minimalistic, deconstructed and dark, it was more feminine and airy. A lot of empire waists, leather and floor length skirts, in the color pallete that he rarely strays from: Blacks, Whites and Greys with pops of moss green. He even works in a couple of elegant Grecian gowns at the end, but still doesn't loose his edge.

Lanvin Spring 2011

Alber Elbaz did it again! His collection for Lanvin Spring 2011 was amazing. Janet Jackson said it best backstage, " (When wearing Lanvin) You feel like you're the baddest bitch on the block." Sleek silhouettes and asymmetry come together with lightweight materials and armor-like structures for a mix of the feminine and masculine. My favorite? The parachute dresses at the beginning of the runway show. It doesn't get better than that for femininity. (style)
