For Spring/Summer 2011, H&M focuses on the mood of the 60s and 70s. It’s either long and loose or short and sharp. “It’s great to reinvent your wardrobe at the beginning of a new season. Fashion doesn’t change as drastically as it used to so you could easily get last season’s favourites to work with smart updates. Safe buys for spring are cool classics in beige or white, and the longer skirts and dresses feel new and very feminine”, says H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson.

Lanvin for H&M

It's official! Alber Elbaz, head designer of the French house Lanvin, will be collaborating with H & M, consisting of women's and men's wear that will launch on November 20th. The womenswear collection will reportedly encompass 30 garments and 15 accessories, while the menswear will include 25 garments and about 10 accessories.
Elbaz says of the collection: “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. I thought it was a smart concept so I say 'I do.' This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”
