2012 Critics Choice Awards

Awards season is upon us!

 Last night at the 2012 Critics Choice Awards celebs came out pouring onto the red carpet but sadly, for me, it was a lot of disappointment. There were a few leading ladies like Emma Stone, Diane Kruger and Michelle Williams that looked exquisite, but they always are red carpet ready. A couple of disappointments were Chloe Moretz and Elle Fanning, who normally are stand outs for me. The two teenage tweens wore gorgeous dresses from Chanel and Rodarte, respectively, but the dresses were wearing them and were not age appropriate (images below).

Jason Wu X Target

It doesn't hit stores until Feb. 5, but already a few images of the Jason Wu for Target collection are trickling in. Inspired by French New Wave films and actress Jean Seberg, the capsule features a selection of want-now separates — blouses with Peter Pan collars, pleated skirts, and nautical-tinged dresses — as well as a hefty assortment of luxe-looking handbags and accessories.

 "My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection," Wu explains. "Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own." With prices under $60, it seems that soon everyone will be able to afford a little piece of Wu to call their own as well. Stay tuned for more images. (fashionologie)

Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012

‘Charley Harper meets the Maharaja’ is how Jason describes his collection. By mixing the rich colour palette of the Maharajah with the graphic work of Harper, he has created a charismatic collection.

Masculinity meets femininity with sporty sweaters and buttoned-up blouses paired with tailored color-block pants and over-sized coats.

Thigh High

A few highlights from this past Mondays' MET Ball were wearing thigh baring slits in their floor length gowns. My favorite of the night was Diane Kruger showing off her gams in Jason Wu. Others included Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry,Brooklyn Decker in Michael Kors and Gwenyth Paltrow in Stella McCartney.




This wasn't all a coincidence. Thigh high slits were seen all over the Fall 2011 runways from Altruzarra to Versace.

Evening Glamour at Jason Wu

Although most well known for his sophisticated day wear, designer Jason Wu took a foray into evening wear for his Fall 2011 showing at New York Fashion Week. Working with delicate lace, Swarovski crystals and feathered embellishments, the new collection looked ready for a night out on the town with its sweeping gowns and strong suiting in a muted, more mature color scheme.
