Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 show seemed to be a rehash of the old and the new. On one hand, there was an obvious vintage influence found in the 40s’ silhouettes, yet at the same time there was a certain futuristic undertone with metallic and other lustrous materials on display. Another highlight was the polka dot motif repeating everywhere from hats to patterned stockings. Offsetting the dot overload, Jacobs also offered form-fitting garments of lace. Far from matronly, the pieces were as seductive as they were lady-like. (fashiongonerogue)
