Alexander Wang Flagship

“I wanted something quite pristine and hard," Alexander Wang said about the search for his new store.

The young and innovative designer is set to open his first flagship store this Thursday on Grand Street in New York City. For his desire for the "pristine," Wang had the floors, walls and pillars painted in a pure white, while 12 panels of mirrors spiral around the corners of the shop. His desire for the "hard" takes form in a dazzling 10-foot-high, 14-foot-wide blackened-steel cage at the store’s entrance. The new store plans to hold true to Wang's love for the “interrupted, and discovering the beauty and mystery that comes from natural flaws. A lot of the pieces are kind of interrupted,” he explained to WWD. “I wanted things to feel a little bit flawed.”
