Minimalist gone maximalist can be the description used for Jil Sander’s fall 2011 collection which followed in the vein of spring’s couture shapes and bold hues. Fall seemed a bit more sporty, however, with sweater knits and more sleek silhouettes inspired by Diane Arbus and 1950s ski-wear. Models walked down the catwalk with slicked back hair, red lips and blue eyeshadow for a showing of understated elegance. (fashiongonerogue, style)
Versace’s sexy and strong woman gets a military inspired revamp for the fall 2011 season with metal embellishments, tailored coats and open toed boots. Lead by Abbey Lee Kershaw, models strutted down the runway in royal blue, pure white and stark black with statement pieces including form-fitting dresses, pleated jackets and fur covered sleeves. The finale gowns included a plethora of feathers which adorned long trains. (fashiongonerogue, style)
Gianfranco Ferré brings another icy color palette to the season with its fall 2011 showing presented during Milan Fashion Week. Sleek with form-fitting silhouettes, lustrous materials and tailored coats, Ferré designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi deliver sleek fashion for the autumn.
Gucci opened Milan Fashion Week with a Fall 2011 showing which surprisingly stayed in the same vein as pre-fall’s glam seventies collection. Adding to that base, Gucci designer Frida Giannini took on jewel toned hues of turquoise and fuchsia with fur accents and sheer floor-length gowns. Models strutted down the runway with oversize hats, dark shades, plum lips and tailored jackets for one sexy and strong outing. (fashiongonerogue) (style)
