Primal Warriors at Demulemeester

The primal warrior women that stalk an Ann Demeulemeester runway—proudly clad in storm-weathered leather, adorned in feathers and chains, hair teased into the biggest mohawk in the village—is a familiar enough sight. For her Fall 2011 collection, things seemed to have taken on a darker edge, with many of her wrapped coats and draped dresses, in black, of course, lined with a row of fixtures in which thorns were placed.
